THE CULT

THE CULT:

The dictionary explains, “intense in and devotion to a person, idea, or activity.”
That is the condition and state of mind of the East Indians. And it has been that way since the early 1950’s. Especially, after the Split between Forbes and Cheddie.
I am in no way attempting to belittle the minds of the East Indian population of Guyana. However, I will attempt to enlighten. Those, my fellow citizens.
Did Dr. Jagan, intentionally wanted such intense dominance over the minds of his ethnic group?  He had quite a noticeable smile. And, at times I wondered, what is going on in his mind. The mind is a secret. Its true intentions can be discerned on the face. But, can be masked by the smile.
Today, we have Cult followings in Guyana. For the Afro, it is L.F.S. Burnham. And, for the Indo, it is C.B. Jagan,
Way back then. For the Amerinds, it would have been Randolph Cheeks-if they remembered. And, for the Putagee, it was Peter D’Augiar.
No Afro dare say anything negative about Forbes-because, it would be dishonouring to his memory and giving credit to those who have chastised him all along. His name, immediately conjures up everything Afro-Guyanese.
Cheddie, the reminder of rigged elections, banned food commodities, Indo persecution. His name, is a remembering of those days.
The representations of good and evil. That changes sides. Depending on the ethnic groups.
It is like Biblical.
Nebuchadnezzar had built an image-once the trumpet was blown everyone prostrated themselves to the idol.
Both Jagan and Burnham have become images in the mindset of the Guyanese people. And we are made to buckle under their memories.  Both Granger and Nagamootoo are muzzled-not to dare the wrath of the respective adherents. They must find that narrow path and prevail.
Particularly, how did the “Jagans Cult” came to be?
I am reminded of the PPP supporter who claimed, “since he barn and gat sense, he only know the PPP.”
Whenever, I meet this fella, I plan to ask him, “If he was born in a fowl cob, would he consider himself to be a man or a fowl.”
Anyway, the mind of the East Indian was predetermined at a very early age. As to their sentiments.
Janet had a devotion to Communism. She found in Cheddie, a country. Ready for her communist activities. Not to say, it wasn’t already sold at the street corners of Georgetown. Communist ideas were already around in British Guiana among some of the Coloureds-mainly people with the African and Baccra bloodline. But, Janet drove it. With such intensity. She was the organiser. Cheddie was only the face. Even the Governor of the Colony, publicly made known his observation, “It appears, as though the Premier takes his orders from another.”
I love to research ancient history. Because, I see a reoccurring pattern in the lives of the generations that had lived on this planet. As the Scriptures records, “The hearts and souls of mankind are unchanged from generations to generations.” For every civilization, their technologies continually (we build on it) enhances our progress to living. But, it does not alter the heart-for the heart (mind) is where good and evil thrives.
My country has a parallel to the “Cult of Baal”, the god of Mesopotamia.
From the Bible: Nimrod was a mighty warrior. In the eyes of the Almighty God, he was a mighty hunter. Nimrod created the kingdom of Babylon and many other centers (cities) in modern day Iraq. He also wanted to reach the throne of God with his Tower of Babel. He was a Rebel.
In his book, “The West on Trial”, Dr. Jagan would write, “On his family tree, there would not have been a Rebel like him.” Ofcourse, he had to be thinking of Bihar-later divided as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. He was a first generation, born in the colony whose parents were from Uttar Pradesh. Every man needs a good woman behind him to promote his destiny.  And Janet was his mentor.
Semiramis, the mother of Nimrod, fascinated with the might and power of her son. She would want him to be remembered forever. She would have a child by Nimrod. Baal. And in Baal, Semiramis created a god, claiming Baal to be the re-incarnation of Nimrod. Wherever, that civilization conquered, Baal was worshipped. After decades of worshipping Baal, the Hittites would dominate the known world and took the worship of Baal to higher limits. They became an abomination in the eyes of the Almighty God.
Enough is Enough, And God would send out the Israelites to crush the altars of Baal wherever it was found.
Dr. Jagan had two very short duration of leadership in Guyana. His first duration came to an abrupt end because of his stubbornness. And the other, his death. And the myth is, “What he could have been.”
As any wife of influence, Janet would want to keep Cheddie’s memory alive. Memories is one thing, but to enslave the minds of the East Indians to the Cult of Jagan. That is wrong.
East Indians are programmed to believe Dr. Jagan was not corrupt and he lived frugal. In other words, he was poor. I say, Cheddie had a limited vision. He did not know how to create wealth. THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANYTIME IN HISTORY WHEN A POOR MAN CREATED EMPLOYMENT FOR HIS FELLOW POOR and to improve their lives. He failed this nation. And now in death, he is being remembered to halt progress. Quite recently, his house was a big discussion-that is all part of the cultish dogma.
The Jagans have completely destroyed democracy in Guyana. They simply did not have that style of thinking when they managed the PPP. So, their approaches to the national interests of Guyana was lacking. Cheddie was elected to a government, but he never governed in the interest of the country. He remained just a PPP man.
Power and control was their ultimate aims. No different than Forbes Burnham. Forbes took power and failed to govern in the interest of the country. He just needed the power
Dr. Jagan also, just wanted the power. However, elected for the honour.  A man in complete control. He consulted no one on his decisions. He just did it. All the sicknesses of this nation, stems from his appointments. Guyana Revenue Agency, held by his very personal relationship along family contacts. On nepotism, he appointed his brother as Speaker and other family members to State Boards. On Cronyism, he appointed his contacts to every State Institutions, be it friends or poorly adequate party members. Sugar and Rice was in trouble when he came into the government, yet he deliberately appointed inadequate individuals to manage those Boards. On corruption, he knew of it, he did nothing to stop it. And when questioned about it by lowly East Indians, he held them in contempt-to the point of insulting. East Indians, stored their wealth in the jewelry they adorned themselves. Cheddie knew of Ministers in his government in the sixties and nineties who extracted bribes from East Indians for state lands and house-lots. He condoned those acts as rewards for his Comrades allegiance to him. Cheddie, knew he had bigots in his cabinet-they made grown men cried-they intimidated fellow East Indian because they were public servants in the PNC regime. He did nothing to curb their racism towards Afro-Guyanese. Complained bitterly about Burnham’s Constitution, yet he did nothing to it, once elected. East Indians felt the brunt of kick-down doors and gun related crimes. The police rented their guns out to criminals. Once elected, Dr. Jagan ignored the plight of the East Indians. Instead, extended the retirement of the Police Commissioner, under whose watch crimes flourished. He should have terminated the man. Then, the man who made promises, he never intend to honour. Monica Reece, killed and her body dumped in the street. Dr. Jagan would promise her mother, justice. The Great Leader of the East Indians was compromised.
Guyana became a criminal state long before Bharrat Jagdeo. Guyana became a corrupt state long before Bharrat Jagdeo. Guyana became the real estate for friends and family long before Bharrat Jagdeo.
Bharrat Jagdeo, simply took it all to a higher level.
People of the Corentyne. This, you must stop.
In the West on Trial, he writes, “at the graveside of the slain men of the Enmore Massacre, he shed a tear and silently pledged to free the people of this country.”
If Dr. Jagan could see what he has done to Guyana?  What his so called legacy is party to? He would strip himself naked. Adorned loin cloth. Sit in ashes. Wail. Throw ashes upon his head in great lamentations for the people whose spilt blood and tears have mingled with the soil of this land.
He died, leaving this country into the hands of devious men and women. Some of them, he knew full well of their misdeeds, before joining Linden Forbes Samson Burnham up above.
And Guyana became a state of compromises and abuses of protocols. The PPP made Sam Hinds a fool in the eyes of his people. Did Dr. Jagan knowingly set up Sam Hinds for the role he was relegated to? If he did, then Dr. Jagan was a closet bigot-a danger to the Guyanese society. The PPP meant more to him than the nation of Guyana. Then came the charade of Janet. The games the Jagans played with the minds of the Guyanese people. Mrs. Jagan would get herself elected as President. Step aside and coronate Bharrat Jagdeo. Her Soviet protégé. Semiramis and Baal thousands of year later-in Guyana.
Mrs. Jagan handed over the East Indians to Bharrat Jagdeo in the memory of her husband, Dr. Jagan. She did such a fantastic job on their hearts and minds, even the legitimate children cannot unhinged that affection. And in this cult, the fruits of Mrs. Jagan teachings gave us the crop misfits at Freedom House-the priests of the Cult of Jagan.
And listen to the voice that emanates from the burden of the Jagans. The yoke majority of citizens are under for his affluence. What does he say? Lies and deceptions- works of Lucifer. Aim is to cheat, steal, rob and kill.
Against great odds, I beseech the East Indians to Vote APNU+AFC. Free yourself from bondage and regain the Peoples Progressive Party.
For this struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.
Choose well my countrymen. Bette Milder reminds us, “God is watching us from a distance.”
